Guilty Lillie is a new jewellery brand created this year by artists Kate Murphy and Madeleine Hellier.
Sourcing genuine vintage trinkets such as old optician's lenses, French 'feves', false eyes and teeth, old lace and fabrics, miniature doll's house items and other 'objets bizarre', Murphy and Hellier create their own one-off pieces by commission or ready-to-buy
However....'Re-Treasuring' is Lillie's most unique service....
Using cloth or paper fragments, photographs, fragments of keepsakes, heirloom jewellery, and pretty much anything you can think of, Guilty Lillie 're-treasures' client's own possessions, by commission, into wearable heirloom jewellery.
To date, Lillie has 're-treasured' single earrrings, dressing gown buttons, tickets stubs, wedding garment fragments, birth certificate fragments, grandmother's engagement rings, first teeth, locks of hair and even fragments of furniture or front door fragments from a beloved house!
Guilty Lillie pieces are inspired by the artists' interests in Victoriana and all arcane objects from the past, in the various fields of medical science, doll's house miniatures, fashion, anatomy, reliquiry, literature and much much more.... xx
wearable art, genius!
